Took a Michigan family vacation this summer to Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa in northern Michigan. It was probably one of the nicest Michigan vacation getaways we have had as a family for quite some time. Everyone had such a good time.
We take a lot of Michigan vacations especially in the summer because summers in Michigan are out of this world. For anyone who loves the white sandy beaches Michigan is tops in my opinion. For this reason we usually vacation along the Lake Michigan beaches.
We had heard a lot about Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa and had always related it to a sky resort more for those winter vacations in Michigan. Well let me tell you Crystal Mountain Resort is probably one of the best year long vacation spots to be in Michigan. And the price was nice especially for a family vacation.
There was so much to do that we were unable to do everything in a 3 day weekend getaway. We bought a vacation package so we would have an idea what our costs were going to be for the weekend. The package included lodging with a full kitchen in our lodge, use of the following activities during your stay: Crystal Clipper chairlift ride, Crystal Coaster alpine slide, Family Bonfires, Field Games, Disc Golf, tennis and tennis equipment rental, admission to Michigan Legacy Art Park, Park at Water’s Edge, The Peak - including the Fitness Center, Indoor Pool and Hot Tub, twilight bike rental, twilight Vertical Edge climbing wall, twilight golf on the Betsie Valley (cart not included) and Outdoor Movies.
The weather was great and there was plenty of water activity to keep us very happy. The staff at Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa was more than accommodating. They really wanted to make sure that we were happy with our stay and that we knew they were there to make our stay pleasant. The service definitely was 4 star.
We are now considering taking a winter Michigan family vacation getaway at Crystal Mountain. Crystal Mountain provides the best in northern Michigan skiing and northern Michigan snowboarding.
We are also stopping in at Crystal Mountain Resort and Spa for there 4th annual Peak To Peak Mountain Bike Race. We are not competing but our children are. The Peak to Peak Mountain Bike race is how we came across their summer vacation packages. We went to their site at crystalmountain.com to find directions and get lodging information on the mountain bike race. So glad we did.

Double JJ to Host National Rothbury Music Festival
The Double JJ Ranch will be hosting the 2nd National Rothbury Music Festival again this year in 2009. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court Thursday will allow the Rothbury Music Festival to be held the 4th of July weekend while the trustee attempts to sell the resort.
There has been a question mark since the bankruptcy soon after last years Rothbury Music Festival. The release to hold the Rothbury festival again this year is a huge asset in the on going sale of the property. The proceeds earned during this huge music festival also releases some money back to the creditors so this is a win win situation for all concerned.
The Rothbury music festival was a smash hit last year as one of the best Michigan vacation getaways. There is no doubt that it will once again be one of the hottest spots to vacation over the 4th of July weekend. There was an estimated 40,000 people rockin at the former Double JJ Resort in Rothbury for a four-day celebration over the 2008 Fourth of July weekend.
So the Rothbury Music Festival is on for 2009 at the Double JJ Ranch. As soon as more details are released I will get them posted. So make sure to plan that Michigan vacation getaway for 4th of July weekend and have another great rockin time.
